On Tuesday, June 23, 1925, an article appeared in the Casper Star-Tribune, sharing the news that the first children would be taken to the Lions Recuperation Camp that coming Saturday. The children were to be brought to the Casper Chamber of Commerce building at 2 pm, where members of the Lions Club would pick them up and take them to the camp location at the foot of Casper Mountain.
